Question:What is terminal velocity?

The maximum speed that a particular object can be accelerated to by a specified amount of force when travelling through a specific fluid.

Examples:

A parachutist falling under the force of gravity through the atmosphere.

A boat being accelerated through the water by the force of its engine.

The action and reaction forces are completely balanced at terminal velocity.

It there are only two forces then they are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction.
