Question:Where did Asteroids come from?
Asteroids are left over from the formation of the Solar System. They are thought to be shattered fragments of small proto-planets that started to form from the Suns nebula, but did not survive the formation of the solar system.
The image shows the south pole of the giant asteroid Vesta, as imaged by the framing camera on NASA's Dawn spacecraft in September 2011 Vesta is the second largest body in the Asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The biggest object is the Dwarf Planet Ceres.
