Question:What are the advantages of wireless communications?

The advantages of wireless technology:

No external/direct connection to a telephone line needed

Portable and convenient

Allows access when on the move but an aerial is needed to pick up the signals

Lower installation costs because less infrastructure is needed

By infrastructure we mean the networks of cables that must be installed and maintained to support wireless devices.

Transmitters are still required and for things like mobile phones this means a whole network of cell towers being build.

In old buildings, it is much easier to install a WiFi network than it is to wire every room for cable broadband.
