Question:What are the main differences between analogue and digital when it comes to noise and attenuation etc.?

With a digital signal you either receive a perfect transmission or none at all, whereas with an analogue signal you always receive some signal but it may not be intelligible.

With analogue TV (what we all used to have before SKY and set top boxes) you could receive a poor quality picture with a lot of white noise overlaying the picture and still manage to watch the Rugby even if the signal was poor, but with digital TV it is either perfect or absent, which can be annoying.
