Question:Can we see or feel infrared radiation?
Infrared radiation is invisible, our eyes cannot detect it at all.
But when you hold your hand up towards the Sun or another hot object, the heat you feel is due to infrared radiation travelling from the hot object to your hand.
When you hold a hot cup - your hand is heated mainly be conduction.
But if you are not touching the cup and still feel heat from it, this is radiation. Conduction requires contact! Radiation travels to you.
